Common constraints
When data cannot leave your network, when the system needs deep customisation, or when long-term cost has to be predictable, a standard SaaS becomes a constraint.
Customer data, meeting content and message history must stay in a specific region or even a specific data centre. Shared-responsibility models rarely satisfy internal audit.
Production networks are often air-gapped or reachable only through dedicated links. A SaaS that depends on public internet ingress cannot be used directly there.
Business systems need custom signalling, message models, permissions and audit logic. Standard APIs impose boundaries that eventually limit the product experience.
